When I
log in with my ID and password, the following is displayed:
‘Express Web Agent, Authentication Failure’
This page is
usually displayed when the ID and/or password has been entered
incorrectly. Exit this page and return to the log in screen. Make sure
the details are entered in lower case. If the error page still appears
you will need to check your ID and password with the Help Desk.
I
have logged in with my SalesWebPlus ID. My screen is stuck on the page
displaying ‘Welcome to CPGNetwork Analyzer’.
When you log into SalesWebPlus with your ID and password for the very
first time, a Java file is downloaded to your PC automatically. This is
required for Oracle Sales Analyzer to operate through the internet. This
may take some minutes depending on your PC, internet access, firewall
etc. Sometimes a security pop up message can appear behind the screen
you are on. Minimise the screen to see if this is present. If it is
you will need to click ‘yes’ to install.
If you find your PC is still stuck on the same screen after ten minutes,
you will need to contact your IT department.
Two main reasons for the SalesWebPlus site not loading correctly are:
1/ Companies have a block (firewall) against downloading files.
2/ Your system can time out before the Java file has finished
downloading.
Why
have my new products not appeared on the SalesWeb Site?
If retailers place products under a different category to what was
originally requested they will not enter the site automatically. Product
placement is generally the responsibility of the buyers with whom you
have the direct relationship.
If you have purchased
a defined list of products (i.e. not taking whole categories) please
contact us to add them in manually. This is because the site is built
to include only the defined products from the initial contract. Bespoke
product lists are manually coded and therefore although we will
endeavour to ensure that new product inclusions are included as soon as
possible, this process may take up to 10 working days to complete.
How quickly does SalesWeb time-out?
The site has a 15 minute time-out. Individual company servers may also
have a time-out on Internet access which users will need to
investigate.
I am looking at backdata for a category and the total is zero?
When a category is introduced to the database, it will have a total
figure for its first appearance and for the following updates. Products
that have been placed under this category title will contain all the
back data. However, the category title will not. The category title will
be correct for the day it is published.
Looking at backdata, why does the category not add up to the products
beneath it?
As above
What is included in Offshore?
Offshore is a
term used for islands that are not included in the InfoScan service –
e.g. channel islands, IOM, IOW etc.
I have noticed in Safeway, the value data is too high,
and the average selling price is flat for lines on BOGOF.
For example, a product is going through at full price in Safeway
throughout the promotional period, causing an inflated uplift in value
figures. Tesco appears to be ok.
Can you explain why this is?
Tesco report
BOGOF promotion correctly i.e. they report net of BOGOF.
As of week commencing 11th January
2004 data received from Waitrose, Somerfield, Sainsbury and the Coop
will be also be correct on our system. For the other accounts, the data
is gross of BOGOF.
This issue is regularly raised with the retailers by various industry
bodies. We continue to push but rely on retailers to alter their system
before we can correct it.
In
the meantime, volume (unit) measure is correct. Where there is a large
rise in sales, but price remains flat it is either a BOGOF, another
multi type promotion or some other form of non price driven promotion
e.g. display driven. If sales rise and price drops, this is a genuine
price cut rather than multi-buy.
What are the differences between SalesWeb and InfoScan?
The market
definition reflects the retailer classification and not the
InfoScan consumer segmentation.
SalesWeb is at EAN level
not SKU.
New products
automatically appear in the assigned sectors, bypassing additional
coding.
SalesWeb measures are
‘raw’ not weighted.
Volume equivalency is
product units.
SalesWeb includes
Northern Ireland and offshore.
SalesWeb does not
exclude multibuy.
What is the minimum specification to allow SalesWeb Plus 11i to operate
on my PC?
Web delivery
means that no on site software needs to be installed and therefore no
server is required. Users need only run a Web Browser from their PC to
access the data, although a Java file is required for OSA to operate
through the Internet. This file is downloaded automatically during the
first connection to OSA and may take up to ten minutes. This file will
not require installing again, with the exception of server upgrades or
patches at Information Resources.
The minimum specification for web enabled OSA is as follows:
|
Client Operating

Windows 95/98,
Windows NT Workstation (service pack 6) or Windows 2000. Within the
Number Tab of Regional settings, List Separator must be set to “,”.
